Nanosilver Research: Baby Products

Posted by Leighanne Oh on 2009-06-21

For the next six weeks, I will be working with ten nanosilver products. However, I was interested in what other nanosilver products were out there. So I embarked (yet again) online for products and found these items:

  • Curad Silver Bandages
  • Antibacterial Silver Athletic and Lounging Socks
  • Contour-Foam™ Silver Back-Support Pillow
  • Contour-Foam™ Silver Crescent Travel and Nap Pillow
  • Contour-Foam™ Silver Neck-Support Pillow
  • Contour-Foam™ Silver Slippers
  • FresherLonger™ Miracle Food Storage
  • FresherLonger™ Plastic Storage Bags
  • MesoSilver® - Nanoparticle Colloidal Silver
  • Infiniti Nano Series
  • Infiniti Hair Designer Pro Series
  • Joycook Nano Silver Plastic Containers
  • Silicone Keyboard Protector
  • Laomian Jingpin luxury stainless steel pot
  • Everin(Korean) antibacterial nano-silver rectangular cutting boards ETT818

When I reported this list of products to Christina, she showed it to Dr. Gunsch, who assigned me to research nanosilver baby products. Why? Because she has a pair of beautiful 6 month old twins!

I searched on Google but was unable to find anything useful so knowing that most nanosilver products are produced in Asia, I looked on a popular Korean website <www.gmarket.com> And my assumption was right! I found an abundant list of nanosilver baby products! I found a variety of items from baby pacifiers, wipes, cleaners, bottles, and toothbrushes.

Then out of the blue, a sudden question rushed into my head. Are these nanosilver products safe for babies? I know that nanosliver kills bacteria but what if these particles are harmful to a fragile baby’s body?

So with these thoughts, I am very motivated and eager to conduct my research. Nanosilver, here I come!
