So I finally interviewed my PI... sort of...

So in a very sneaky, ninja-esque way, I interviewed my PI without even intending to. Had a long conversation with him about the future, and realized he had said some pretty profound things... so I thought that I would share.

The Amazing Sara - volleyball-playing, fly-crossing, chocolate-eating grad student extraordinaire.

My grad student's cooler than your grad student! Okay. That's sort of mean. But she is pretty cool :)

Day-to-day in my lab is relatively routine.I arrive earlier than the other members of the team working on my project, and sort through the dozens of plates, in all different stages of growth, for contamination or any useful observations...

I'm Vera, a rising senior at Jordan High School in Durham. I've just started working in the mycology lab at Duke, helping out with a graduate student's project looking at speciation and hybrids between oyster mushroom species. Frankly, I'm a wee bit lost...
