The first day of Howard Hughes
Today is the first day of Howard Hughes research program. Although I just had a 15 hours fly and feel a little bit tired now, I still feel very excited about the research program and looking forward to seeing all my old graduate friends in the Willis lab, which is the lab I am about to working for the next 8 weeks.
Everything was so “good” today until I got the Howard Hughes program schedule after morning breakfast. Originally, I thought this program was just let you work at one lab and got paid, but actually, it seems way more complicated than that!
We need to post our blog, interview people, have lots of seminars and share our researches with other research fellows. Yea, apparently, this program not only focusing on research but also pay attention to improve student’s communication skill and thinking.
Although the schedule is quite stressful for me, I think it is actually good for my future career because sometimes commutation is as important as research itself! Yes, I guess, nowadays, it is important to not only find new discovery, but also let people know your discovery. :-)
